The new Grappler BB is primarily designed for jigging with a lightweight body manufactured from Shimano's exclusive CI4+ material to reduce the overall weight and minimise fatigue when jigging for extended periods of time. To improve jigging and fish-playing performance, the Grappler BB has a long 51mm double handle, with EVA grips, that increases torque and improves winding power. This specialist reel has a carbon drag that can apply up to 5.5kg of power helping the angler move fish from the bottom quickly. Technology: CI4+: - CI4+ is an advanced version of the original CI4. This highly technical material is 2.5 times stiffer than CI4 and is used on many highend Shimano reels to increase weight savings. Use of CI4+ for the body and rotor also delivers remarkable stiffness for better reel efficiency. SVS infinity: - Shimanos newest innovation in brake system technology, SVS Infinity provides easy to manage, consistent spool control and brake force. With brake weights that use inner friction against the raceway during the cast, SVS Infinity controls spool speed for precision casting especially when using lighter lures. The external adjustment knob provides for quick, precise adjustments for either the conditions or when you switch baits. S ARB: - Shimano S ARB bearings are high corrosion resistant ARB ball bearings with an extra shield for improved protection against sand, salt or dust. Super Free System: - The Super Free bearing supported pinion gear system (SF) was designed to eliminate friction on the spool shaft during the cast. In standard baitcasting reels, when the clutch bar is pressed down, the pinion gear is freed and can actually drag on the spool shaft, creating friction and limiting the length of the cast. With SF, the pinion gear is supported by a ball bearing, and when the clutch is disengaged the pinion gear and spool shaft are kept in precise alignment. The result is zero friction on the spool shaft for increased freespool.
